Baby To Do List Almost Complete

With only a few weeks until our due date (Sept 26) We have pretty much completed the "Baby To Do List"!  The room is finished for the most part-- just a few more final touches, our bags are packed, Wade's bags are packed, car seat and extra base are installed in both vehicles, now all we need is Wade!  I'm still feeling pretty good-- hard to get comfortable sleeping, sitting, standing you name it!  But making it none the less.  Doctor visits have been good-

We had black out curtains made to keep the room nice and dark, Will and Benny made the window seat-- Mom did the finish, had a faux tooled leather seat cushion made and pillows for a comfy space to sit and read, towers to the left and right got updated with a faux ostrich leather finish!

Looks like it has years worth of paint on it.  Turned out better than I imagined!

Will's Great Grandmother's rocking chair BEFORE.  The right arm has a little worn in spot from someone's thumb!  Very neat and special

Rocker AFTER-- recoverd and cushion added for a little more comfort.  Kept wood finish as it was just added a clear coat for protection.

Old lamp from Will's Papa and Mimi's house-- had to have it re-wired as it blew a fuse the first time I plugged it in!  Mom updated the shade with the ostrich leather technique.

Oh the hand me downs!  Being the second daughter I never thought I would love hand-me-downs but boy will they come in handy!  Thank you Chase and Joshua (Will's cousin's little boy) His closet is FULL of clothes!!

Finally... time to add more pictures

So I knew from the beginning that I wouldn't be very good at keeping up with this blog thing... seems like there is always something going on these days as we prepare for little Wade!  The room is finally coming together only a few more touches... think I'll wait until it is complete before I post pictures of the room... will put some of the pictures showing how full and messy it was after the shower though! 

Our church gave us a wonderful shower last weekend-- we are so blessed to have such great family and friends who had a part in helping prepare for our little boy!

And here is big cousin Chase turning 6.  He is growing up so fast.  He seems excited about his baby cousin... says he'll call him "Little Man" hopefully he'll get used to sharing the attention!  And I know he will help teach Wade lots of things!

Ok so pictures of the room with the big Reveal soon to come... And about 5 weeks or less left until we meet Wade!!!  Still so much to do.

The bump

Figured I'd better put one of these "bump" pictures on here for my family that won't get to see me pregnant.  Of course it was about 3 weeks ago when I took this picture so I've gotten a little bigger since this but it is what I have to show.

Wade's Room

Thought it would be fun to put up some before pictures of Wade's bed room.  We've been working hard getting things together for him.  Right now all the furniture is moved to the center of the room waiting on the painter (the fabulous Bonnie)

We built the window seat!  Mom will be doing a finish on it to jazz it up a bit!  The two towers to the left and right of the window seat will also be getting a finish.  Glad to have a magical Mom that can make my visions come to life!

And here are some fabrics for the room...

As you can see, I plan to use various shades of brown with some blue and green accents (the rocking chair fabric) We don't really have a "theme" but the room will have an overall rustic feel and then accented with some horse things.

One of my favorite finds for the room was this metal horse Mom and I found at a local antique store! 

He has a bobbly head and buck teeth!  We named him Willy!  Of course when Wade gets older we'll have to put it outside as it is probably not kid friendly!

That is all for now on the room.  Mom has started painting and she won't let me in there until she is finished.  So I'll post more pictures later on--



Baby Sims Update

It's a boy!  William Wade (we'll call him Wade) Short and sweet like his Daddy's name! Sorry it took so long to put up the post-- lack of power due to tornadoes that came thru on April 27.  We went a whole week with out power... no worries though luckily we had some friends that lived about 20 minutes away that had power, warm showers, and an extra bed to offer!

I am almost done selecting fabrics and things for Wade's room when I get a chance I'll do a little post with the design concept and some pics of fabrics.  Mom and I have some great ideas to make the room come together!

Prego

As most of you know by now, Will and I are going to have a baby in September.  We are so very excited!  Two more weeks and we'll find out what we are having... I hate to say it but that might be when I make my next post!  May 3rd is our appointment date and we have planned to take the day off from work to do some shopping and celebrating!  So it might be a day or two before I do an actual post but I'm sure I'll email or call most of you.

The SIMS family- in REAL LIFE

After a little encouragement from my good friend Jenny, I decided I'd start a blog for our family to keep all of our friends and family updated with the SIMS!  And no, I'm not talking about the video game.  This is the SIMS family in real life!
